  • Sow & Root Yoga & Well-Being Studio 2c Snuff Street Devizes, SN10 1DU Wiltshire (map)

A day workshop that explores and embraces the nuances of movement within yoga. Join Celi and Rose for a modern and playful approach of mobility and mechanics in the physical practice whilst honouring its foundational roots.

We will delve into a variety of traditional shapes to find a balanced, individual focus of your body’s movements. Learning how to investigate different sensations, and refine overall awareness and function with attention to detail. After establishing the core principles and biomechanics of each pose we will introduce effective mobility techniques, prop skills, the science of stretching and soft tissue massage to support building stability and resilience, and enhance range of motion.

Incorporated around this workshop-space will be two blended Hatha + Vinyasa practices allowing you to implement everything that you have learned in your tissues (body and brain). Expect approachable postures,  mindful breathwork and a slower, heat-building pace.

This experience of both physical and academic learning will offer insights into the true demand of many yoga poses, how and why to make your time on the mat adaptable when necessary, and provide evidence-based tools to not only keep your practice sustainable but improve flexibility, strength and joint health.

A delicious and nutritious vegan lunch, energy snacks, tea and fruit water will be provided throughout the gathering.

Come question this expansive practice; lean into edges, engage in different perspectives, cultivate community conversation and move through the opportunistic layers of asana.
