Where Women Gather, We Grow
A little note from Rose on the magic of women gathering, connecting and holding space for one another.
As the leaves begin to turn and the days gently draw in, nature offers us a quiet invitation: to slow down, to soften, to gather.
Autumn is a season of coming home. Of roots growing deeper, of gathering what nourishes us, and of finding warmth in the company of others.
Perhaps there is something for us women in this too.
We are not designed to move through life alone. There is something quietly powerful about being in a space with other women; to share stories, to listen, to laugh, to exhale, to be witnessed and to simply be as we are.
A held space can become a place to land.
A place where you don’t need to have it all figured out. Where you can bring whatever season of life you are moving through - the joyful, the uncertain, the messy, the changing, and find that someone else understands.
Because being a woman isn’t one single thing.
We each move through our own seasons, chapters and transformations. There are times of beginning and becoming, times of growing, times of letting go and times of simply being. Some of us become mothers, some don’t. Some seasons are loud and full of change, others are quieter and inward.
What connects us isn’t that we are all walking the same path, but that we don’t have to walk our paths alone.
At Sow & Root, this sense of connection is at the heart of what we hope to create.
Our Wild Nurture antenatal classes, held by Clare, are a dedicated space for women preparing to welcome a baby. They offer much more than preparation for birth, they are an opportunity to slow down, connect with your changing body, learn, ask questions and build a little community around you.
Clare creates a warm and nurturing space where there is room for honest conversations, the questions you might not know where to ask, and the many feelings that can accompany such a huge life change. Alongside movement, breath and body awareness, there is time to connect with other women who are sharing this particular season.
Our Roots & Shoots postnatal classes continue that sense of community into early motherhood. A gentle space to restore, reconnect and rebuild after birth, with your little one welcomed into the studio too. A chance to move, breathe, meet other mothers and feel supported as you find your own rhythm in this new chapter.
And then there is Gather & Grace, our women’s circle with Sarah.
Here, there is no particular season you need to be in and no particular version of yourself you need to bring.
Sarah holds space for conversations about anything and everything - whatever feels alive for the women gathered in the room. Through ritual, meditation, journaling, creativity, conversation and connection with nature and the seasons, Gather & Grace offers time to pause, listen and simply be alongside other women.
Because these spaces are about more than what happens within them.
They are about belonging.
About being able to arrive without needing to perform, achieve or explain yourself.
About finding connection in the ordinary, the difficult, the joyful and everything in between.
Just as a woodland is strengthened by the interconnectedness of its trees, plants and roots, we too are nourished by our connections with one another. Beneath the surface, unseen but deeply felt, there is a network holding us.
Perhaps this autumn, the invitation is simply to gather.
To step out of the doing for a little while.
To put down roots.
To meet yourself, and perhaps meet others, exactly where you are.
To be held, and to hold space for another.
Our next six-week antenatal and postnatal terms with Clare begin in November, alongside our ongoing monthly Gather & Grace women’s circles with Sarah.
Come as you are. Gather with us.
Where women gather, we grow.
